Beautiful, brand new venue. Seats are comfortable. The seats are well designed to see the stage. The lighting is well done, and the acoustics are top notch. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Plenty of free parking on the street.
We enjoyed the Children's Art Show at the Ames Center.
It's open Wednesday through Friday from 11am to 4pm until May 19th.
The framing and display of all the different projects looked fantastic!
There are many talented artists in the school district. Thank you for sharing!
Great venue, all seats provide a nice view of the stage. Only 2 concerns, our concert was supposed to start at 7:30 and we were told nothing until 8:10, apparently the cover band called in sick. And even though they were not having an intermission they closed down the beverage station and the staff were rude about it.
Love this place! We've brought the family here for multiple plays and shows! It's the first place my kids watched a real production and they both love going!
Lots of ample and free parking on the street and garages surrounding the theater. Easy to find and get into. Very clean and staff was friendly and helpful. The theater itself however is very cramped feeling. Granted we were on the balcony but the seating chairs are very outdated, uncomfortable and honestly, even for an average size person myself, the seats were SMALL. No arm or leg room at all. Not even a place to put drinks if you purchase one.
Neat place. Has an art gallery in it so while you wait for the performance you can browse the art. The lobby is pretty small but it includes a full bar and snacks which are relatively reasonably priced for a performance center. The grounds are beautiful and are well decorated. Everything is very bright and very modern. Overall, this place is great!
Out of respect for the rules set by the theater I do not have pictures of the performance to share (Red & Dracula).
Theater and facilities were clean and easy to navigate. Parking was EVERYWHERE and FREE! There's a lot right off the front entrance, a ramp and additional lot behind the building (you will have to walk uphill to get to the front doors if you park back there) and free street parking on both sides.
Every seat in the theater appears to have a great view of the stage! I sat on the right side of the balcony and here is the view I had. Additionally, each row of seats in the balcony was another level up (imagine how bleachers are set up) making it so, no matter who sat in front of me I could see. My shorter friend next to me said the same.
Note for my plus size beauties, these seats are wide enough for some extra hips if you've got them! I LOVED not having to squeeze into the seat like I would at the target center. My guess is that they're 20-22 inches across. Also larger than your standard airplane seat. IYKYK!
Have fun!
Great venue to watch a show at. Charlie Berens was a hoot!!! Thanks for visiting Charlie!!! “Go Vikings”. The reason for my four star is the gal sitting in seat S-15….. next time your at a show that says no recording, turn your damn phone off. You were very distracting to others around you. People around you paid to see the show, not your phone. And obviously you are one of those that will do what you want regardless of others and what you are instructed…. (No recording dummy) yes you seat S-15. That’s my only complaint. Other wise would have been 5 stars.
